Solar Pool Heating

If you're lucky enough to have an outdoor pool, take advantage of Solar Pool Heating! Even when it's warm outside, the water in the pool can be too cold to enjoy so you need to heat it a bit. But heating a pool with electricity can be costly so try solar instead and save energy and money.

You have several options for your Solar Powered Pool Heating. Your decision will depend on, of course, your personal situation including: how cold the water is to start, how much you want to heat the water, how much sunlight the pool gets, etc.

Solar Pool Covers and Solar Pool Rings

These work several ways:

~ They keep the heat in the pool from escaping.
~ They reduce evaporation which uses energy and consequently cools the water.

Both are relatively inexpensive and do not require any special installation. Many can be used in conjunction with other solar and non solar pool heating.

Solar Panels

Solar panels will be more expensive than covers or rings but they can also heat the water more and faster.

These panels heat the pool water while the filter runs so they do use some energy but it's energy you are paying for anyway to keep the pool clean.

Flexibility Of Using Solar

Solar can be used as the sole heating source or in combination with a non solar source. If you can use Solar 100% of the time, that's great for both energy savings and for your pocketbook. But if Solar only works part of the year or isn't quite strong enough by itself, you can still use it to help reduce your energy usage.

Some Solar Powered Pool Heating products can also be used for your hot tub and spa like Solar Sun Spa Rings. Because hot tub designs vary, check the instructions and product descriptions or with a sales person for more information.

Try Solar For Pool Lighting Too

There are many styles of Solar Lighting including garden and pathway lighting and lights for in and around your pool. Have fun choosing some lighting that will save money!
