EnerGuide

Consumers in Canada have access to the EnerGuide that gives some quick energy usage information for many appliances. The information it provides can make the task of comparing products much easier.

This black and white card should be displayed on all dishwashers, refrigerators, clothes washers, and other appliances, whether the appliance is considered energy efficient or not. If you don't see one, be sure to ask a sales person for one.

This guide is easy to read and can provide great information at a glance. It indicates a product's relative energy usage on a type of number line. An arrow placed along this line shows whether the product is more or less energy efficient.

You'll find out:

~the kilowatts the product uses per year and
~how its kilowatt usage compares with other models.

Note: Similar guides are also available for other countries:
EnergyGuide - United States
EU Energy Label - European Union
