Earth Day Projects

Animal Adoption- 250x250

The possible Earth Day Projects are endless! You can get involved with an organized event or create your own. Do something big and wild or just keep it quiet and simple. (Of course we suggest an energy saving project!) Whatever you choose, you'll be proud to contribute to helping the Earth.

Organized Community Projects

Schools, universities and private and public organizations put together all sorts of activities and encourage the public to participate. These projects are a wonderful opportunity to get involved with your local community and meet some people. Projects are organized all over the world throughout Earth Week. Some require participants to sign up in advance and commit a certain amount of time while others are more open. You just show up and participate as long as you can.

Create Your Own Energy Earth Day Project

Some of you have crazy busy schedules and it's hard to commit to an organized project. Or maybe you just don't like crowds. No big deal - you can create your own project. Create a project just for you or your family or your group of friends or coworkers. Even better-challenge your friends to a contest. See who can go without watching television the longest or see who can reduce their energy bill the most. Everyone can pitch in to buy an eco-friendly prize for the winner like a native plant or reusable water bottle.

Get the Whole Family Involved

However you decide to celebrate Earth Day, make it a family event. Sometimes the kids are the most enthusiastic about it and already have their own plans! Earth Day is a great time to get together and do something special for the environment. Both kids and adults can teach each other about how we can help including things like saving energy, recycling, cleaning up trash, landscaping with native plants and trees and more.

Donate Money to Help the Environment

There are many organizations all over the world working hard to protect the environment and many rely on donations. Giving your time, your money or both will help immensely. Maybe you can't participate in an organized activity but you can donate supplies or make a financial contribution. Either way, you are helping to make Earth Day a success!
