Let us have a look at the materials needed in the construction of solar ovens. You need plywood, cookie trays, screws, aluminum sheets, black paint, small volts, Styrofoam and hinges. Once you have all these necessary materials you can start constructing your solar oven. The first step is to prepare a box and for this get the required pieces of plywood with a length of ½ inch. The outside has to be framed using these. Use the cookie trays made of metal now and screw these to the interior portion of the plywood. Use screws for joining the panes. Next cut and glue the Styrofoam inside the prepared frame. Use ¾ inches length plywood for making the outer box layer. The entire outer portion has to be painted using the black paint.

Connect together the inner panels of the box followed by placing them into outside box. The Styrofoam has to be placed at the box bottoms down these sides. Use aluminum sheeting for constructing inner box. Glue them to plywood followed by attaching it into the box. At the box bottom, place the block (2/2). Underneath it, the Styrofoam has to be placed. Use aluminum sheets for making sun collector and glue them to the particle board followed by painting other side.

For making the solar cooker, glue together plywood (1/8 inches). These plywood need to have square cuts in them and also provide one lip that which the door of the oven can close into. For attaching the door, small hinges have to be used for attaching the door into the cooker’s top edge. Using screws glue top to main box.

The panels of the sun-collector have to be attached into the oven with braces followed by bending them at about 67 degree. Bolt these panels into the braces which were connected to the box. Use wing nuts for attaching the panel by means of little plastic pieces as small bolts and hinges.
